My Geekery

So, everyone has their geek thing right? Joe is a computer dope. Danny writes poetry. Juicy buys purses. DB is a craft addict. Me?

I was a theatre major.

I read plays over novels. My dream job is Here. I have these everywhere. I have a whole shelf of shakespeare on my bookshelf. One day I will be a director and I will be paid to create my own world , hundreds of times over. As time goes by and I read or see play after play I've been making a mental list of the plays on my "to direct" list. I added another one on Saturday night. Cabaret. Wonderful! I can think of a million design and character ideas right now. So I'm sure i'll be adding to this list in the future and I know there are plays I can't even think of right now. But for the time being:

The List

Much Ado About Nothing ~Shakespeare~
Fen ~Caryl Churchill~
Cabaret ~Kander and Ebb~
Fat Men in Skirts ~Nicky Silver~

If you've read or seen any of these, or if you want to..I'm here to kibbits when you're ready.

Cheers.

"Computer dope?" I resemble that remark.

Hey, wait... that was supposed to be "resent."

Which part? Computer or dope?

Joe and I have thought about writing a screenplay. Should we come find you to direct it when we finally get around to it?

"Much Ado"?? I absolutely ADORE that play!! I thought Branagh's screen adaptation was pretty decent (hell, anyone who can keep up the accent the entire time and make me believe it is pretty impressive as I am quite the demanding little beyotch!) but I still go through it and say "I would do this different" or "that different." I actually used to write small one-acts a lifetime ago (and scarily enough, became published for it), though the drama masks were never on the wall. I enjoyed stage crew much more so. *shrug*

LOL...I do buy purses. Damn. That's how I am going to be remembered when I die.
