Ok, she didn't beg, but it rhymes.
In a comment on this post the Dirty Bunny requested I post a little memory and I must say that I'm inclined to. When my sister and I were growing up whenever we'd eat something spicy we'd quickly run for the water and my mother would always say without fail:
"Don't drink water, it just spreads the peper oils around, eat bread! It soaks them up, trust me I saw it on discovery! blah blah blah"
After many many times of this happening, my sister and I could practically mouth the words along with my mother. Well one day my sister bites into something (I have no clue what, I was a child give me a break, this was many years ago.) and it is extremely hot (temperature hot). She barely gets it swallowed and yells "HOT HOT, oh my god that was HOT." My mother (in true fashion) says "Eat some bread! Don't drink water!!". This was about all my sister could handle. She exploded at my mother in what *could* have beeen violent and dangerous but instead was hysterical.
Mom: "Eat some bread! Don't drink water!! Water just spreads the oils around!"
Sister: "It's not spicy! It's just TEMPERATURE HOT! Jesus MOM! Your solution to EVERYTHING is to 'PUT SOME BREAD ON IT'!" "Oh, you broke your leg? PUT SOME BREAD ON IT!" "You got decapitated? PUT SOME BREAD ON IT!"
Me: On the floor laughing my ass off
Fastward to 10 or so years later and anytime one of us gets hurt it's always "PUT SOME BREAD ON IT!".
