and by "He" I mean Easter weekend shenanigans.
Happy Easter to all of you. Easter has always been and will hopefully continue to be a happy joyful time in my life. Although not very religious at all my family always had an Easter meal with my grandparents and assorted extended family members. This year my parents have NO kids at home and not very many relatives living nearby so my roommate and I invited them and my brother to Easter Brunch at a resort close to here. My roommate's family has gone for years and this will be my second year joining them. You have to understand this brunch. It's fucking HUGE! Tons of food, and GOOD food might I add. It's an all you can eat buffet which just makes it all that much better.
And the bacon. Dear god the bacon.
They have honey-hickory-somethin-somethin bacon and it is the most delicious bacon I've ever had in my life. Not to mention the custom pasta bar, omelette bar and crepe bar. It's insanity there, too much to mention. This year was filled with anticipation not only because I had not eaten any bread, pasta, potatoes, or rice for 40 days (Lent) but because my parents were meeting my roommate's parents for the first time ever. This may sound a little too much like "meeting the soon to be in-laws" but trust me it's nothing weird like that. It's just that me and the roommate have actually been friends for almost 6 years and only roommates for about 7 months. We figured the mixing of the two families would either prove hilarious or ridiculous.
We got our wish: Hilarity.
Our families are like a match made in heaven. Doesn't seem odd considering that we get along so well and we are both products of our parents. The meal was delicious and was punctuated with stories by the roommate's dad about beebee guns and shooting peacocks. ah...good times. Then the real hilarity ensued......
Yes, that's me wearing Peep sunglasses that my mom gave me. I flippen' love peeps!
