And the YETI unite

Before I get into this post I just have to say somewhere more out there than the comments thread that I really appreciate all of the nice thoughts from all of you regarding my friend's death. Blogging really has become a way to get things off my brain and I know it really should be just for me, but it does help to know that you all are thinking about me in a time like that. So....Thanks.

Moving on.........

I am officially going to the "SASQUATCH" festival! I'm so excited I could puke.

For those of you not from around here....

Sasquatch is a 3 day music event in one of the most amazing performance spaces on earth: The Gorge. If you don't believe me just look at the pictures, it is GORGEOUS. It is the most amazing place to watch a concert because it looks over the columbia river and as the sun is going down behind the stage it creates a lovely orange/red/yellow/blue/green/purple/anycoloryoucanthinkof glow behind the band. BEAUTIFUL! Anyway I digress..........

I belong to a mailing list with the House of Blues and so I get pre-sale tickets (yeah like with the rest of america) . I do happen to like it though because I get email reminders with codes for the pre-sale tickets, so it's nice to know I get them before most people so I'm guaranteed a ticket. When I saw the bands that were going to be at Sasquatch this year I just knew that This Guy who I also refer to Here would really want to go. Now his birthday isn't like for 7 months but I care for him a great deal and besides I want to go too! So, I splurged. Probably spent way too much money but I don't care because you see , I get to see some bands I really like, some new bands that he likes, some bands neither of us have heard yet, and spend a whole weekend with him, so it's MOSTLY selfish because I enjoy his company and I know he enjoys music. Win/Win situation in my opinion (and this is my blog, so that's the opinion you get).

If any of you are curious as to how freakin' hip I am and the bands I'll be seeing you can check the lineup out Here. I will be sure of course to give the lowdown after the show, it's not till May but I'm almost counting down the days. Now to figure out the camping situation....and how to get drunk for 3 days straight in the sun and not pass out and miss the whole thing.

Wow. That line-up is so alt.rock. The Shins, Iron & Wine, The Decemberists.

I've heard The Gorge has almost perfect natural acoustics.

There's two things you can never spend too much money on books and music...okay 3 and latte.

I wish we had a rock music festival here. All we have is the Hodag Country Music Festival. I'm not a huge country fan.
